A reel success

Since the recent rains started falling the Brakpan Dam has been a popular location for local anglers. Fishermen can be spotted on most days looking to make that big catch.

A carp weighing 16.1kg was reeled in by local fisherman Ryno Tintinger (29) from the Brakpan Dam over the weekend. Ryno, who is a big specimen angler, used boilies (boiled paste) as bait, and was thrilled with the large catch.

Ryno’s son Raynier Tintinger (nine months old) was dwarfed by the large fish.
