Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A vacant house situated along Van der Walt Street, in Dalview, was broken into.

Door handles and electric wires were stolen.

* Tools, a laptop, clothes, shoes and a pair of sunglasses were stolen from a car parked along Stoffberg Avenue.

* Two cars were stolen – a white Isuzu bakkie (model not provided) was stolen from the Sherwood Shopping Centre and a white Ford Tonic was stolen from the corner of Park Street and Kitzinger Avenue.

• Saturday – A home in Tinker Road, Brenthurst, was burgled of a cellphone and laptop.

* Three vehicles were stolen.

A white Kawasaki Kle 500 motorbike was stolen from an address along Escombe Avenue, a white Nissan E20 Combi was stolen from Elliot Road and a car trailer was stolen from Mitchell Crescent, in Brenthurst.

* A car parked along Kingsway Avenue was broken into.

The vehicle’s radio, battery and wheel caps were stolen.

One suspect was arrested in connection with the theft.

* A man was robbed at the corner of Hendrik Potgieter Road and End Street, in Dalview.

Two robbers, one of whom was armed with a knife, confronted the victim as he was leaving the Pannefees at around 10pm.

They threatened him with a knife and demanded money.

The robbers fled with the victim’s cellphone and wallet.

• Sunday – A white Nissan 1400 was stolen from Wanderers Street.

Other cases:

• Thursday – A battery was stolen from a car parked at the corner of Cavendish Street and Kingsway Avenue.

• Contempt of court: 1
• Theft: 2
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Shoplifting: 1
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1
