Daily crime watch

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (November 28 to 29):

Cases reported:

• Speeding: 1

• Hijacking: 2 (one Springs case)
• Theft: 2
• Residential burglary: 3
• Theft from motor vehicle: 1

Arrests:

• Residential burglary: 1
• Residential burglary and possession of housebreaking implements: 1

Hijacking:

• A delivery man was hijacked of his company vehicle by four men on Monday evening.

The incident took place at the Mall@Carnival at about 6.30pm, while the victim was waiting for a colleague.

Four men, three of whom were armed with guns, confronted the victim and instructed him to open the door.

The hijackers searched him, taking two cellphones, and covered his face.

They got into the vehicle – a white Toyota Quantum – and drove off with the victim.

He was dropped off in Boksburg.

Robbery:

• A pedestrian was robbed at knifepoint in Brakpan North, last night (Tuesday).

The victim was walking along Hospital Road at about 6pm, when he was approached by three men.

They threatened the victim with a knife and searched him.

He was robbed of his cellphone and the trio fled on foot.

Burglary:

• Station Road.

The home was burgled yesterday.

Stolen: Tools. A suspect was arrested and the stolen items recovered.

• Croft Street, in Minnebron.

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: Two TVs.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A black Suzuki motorcycle (model not provided) was stolen from an address along Gerrit Maritz Avenue, in Dalview, on Monday.

• A white Toyota Dyna truck was stolen from Mall@Carnival yesterday.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• A car parked at an address along Leeu Avenue, in Leachville, was broken into on Monday.

The vehicle’s radio and a cellphone were stolen.
