The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (May 16 to 17):

House robbery:

• A woman was robbed by two men in her home along Kinaboom Avenue in Leachville yesterday (Wednesday).

The victim was home alone at around 11am when the pair forced open the front door.

One robber kept watch over the victim in the bedroom, while the other ransacked the house.

They fled in a white Volkswagen Polo with jewellery, cellphones, two TVs, a laptop and other household items.

Hijacking:

• The driver of a white Isuzu bakkie was hijacked at the intersection of Heidelberg and Elsburg roads, near Carnival City, last night.

While stationary at the traffic lights at about 6pm, the victim saw two men approaching the bakkie.

One man walked to the driver’s side and smashed the window with a firearm, while the other smashed the window on the passenger side.

The pair then climbed into the bakkie, threatened the victim at gunpoint and drove off with him.

After a 10-minute journey, the victim was dropped off near an open field.

• On Monday  night, a couple was robbed of the blue Toyota Conquest they were travelling in.

The incident took place at around 10pm when they pulled over on the side of Heidelberg Road, near Dalpark, to drop off two passengers.

Two men approached the Conquest and pointed guns at the couple.

They were tied up and driven to an open piece of land near Vosloorus where they were let go.

The vehicle was later recovered in Zonkizizwe, Katlehong.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A white Bashan motorcycle was stolen from an address along Hope Avenue on Tuesday.

• An attempt was made to steal a blue Toyota Etios at Mall@Carnival on Sunday.

The vehicle’s ignition and driver’s side door lock were damaged.
