Foundation launches mobile clinic

Bishop David Lazarus and his wife Neela are closer to fulfilling their desire to leave behind a lasting legacy.

As part of their wish, the couple recently founded the Lazarus Legacy Foundation (LLF).

David is the presiding bishop of Siloam Ministries in Gauteng, and the foundation, which mainly focuses on education and health, recently launched its mobile clinic in Brakpan.

It is hoped the clinic will assist in providing healthcare to the previously disadvantaged areas in the East Rand.

Lack of transportation and finance were identified as one of the most common factors preventing the community in these areas from acquiring medical treatment and services needed.

The foundation also saw a need for a tuition centre in Brakpan and opened such a facility almost two years ago.

The centre operates from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays and provides learners from Grades Eight to 12 with subject tuition in a conducive environment with qualified educators.

Learners from all different schools attend the tuition centre.

Including David and Neela, the LLF board consists of seven directors.

The directors of the Lazarus Legacy Foundation are Maldon Lazarus, David Lazarus, Neela Lazarus, Malcom Lazarus, Marlene Sunnasy, Linda Bengane and Mokete Tshabalala.

The five others are Mokete Tshabalala, Marlene Sunnasy, Malcom Lazarus, Linda Bengane and Maldon Lazarus.
