The long arm of the law has caught up with business robber Vernon Grant Balance (36).
Balance robbed a Prince George Avenue café on November 6, last year.
He entered the shop around noon and asked the cashier for a single cigarette.
Balance then leaned across the counter and attempted to take money from the cash register.

When the female cashier attempted to stop him, he threatened her with a knife.
He fled with money and the cashier’s cellphone.
Balance was recently sentenced in the Brakpan Regional Court to 15 years imprisonment.
The case was successfully investigated by Det WO Doepie du Plessis from the Ekurhuleni Central Trio Task Team.
