According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (May 27 to 28):

Cases reported:

• Rape: 2
• Residential burglary: 1
• Inquest: 1
• Traffic offences: 6
• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Common robbery: 1
• Theft: 1
• Shoplifting: 2
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1
• Fraud: 1

Arrests:

• Rape: 1
• Contempt of court: 1
• Shoplifting: 2

Common robbery:

• A man was robbed by four men at the corner of Voortrekker Road and Park Street.

The victim was confronted by the gang at around 5.45pm on Sunday.

The robbers assaulted the victim, searched him and ran off with his cash.

Burglary:

• Brakpan Road, Anzac.

The break-in took place on Sunday.

Stolen: Gardening equipment and fishing gear.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A Ford Bantam bakkie was stolen from an address along Pendoring Street in Dalpark yesterday (Monday).

The vehicle was recovered in Vosloorus.

Theft out of motor vehicle:

• On Saturday, a laptop was stolen from a car parked at Carnival City.
