Show off your creativity and win

Centenary-themed art competition for primary school children.

The Herald is calling on all young artists to submit their creative masterpieces to commemorate Brakpan’s centenary.

In honour of the town celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, the Herald recently launched a centenary-themed art competition for primary school children.

There are great prizes up for grabs.

Whether you are full of talent, an emerging artist or just someone who enjoys being creative, this competition is for you.

All you have to do is create an artwork that portrays or captures the town’s centenary.

Your artwork can be submitted in any medium, be it a painting, a drawing, a sculpture or a photograph.

Judges will look at creativity and originality and there is no limit to the size of your artwork.

Entries must, however, be handed in at the Herald’s office, so make sure it fits into mom’s or dad’s car.

There are seven categories in which to enter: Grade One, Grade Two, Grade Three, Grade Four, Grade Five, Grade Six and Grade Seven, and a winner will be chosen in each category.

The seven winners will each receive a R300 voucher from Sherwood Pick n Pay, as well as a special certificate from the Herald.

• Artworks submitted without this information will be disqualified.

• Entries must be handed in at the Herald’s office at 61 van der Walt Road in Dalview on or before August 2.

• No late entries will be accepted.
