Daily crime watch

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (August 19 to 20):

Cases reported:

• Common assault: 1
• Armed robbery: 1
• Theft: 1
• Reckless driving: 2
• Drunk driving: 1
• Assault GBH: 2
• Business burglary: 1
• Theft from motor vehicle: 1
• Inquest: 1
• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Common robbery: 1

Arrests:

• Shoplifting: 3

Armed robbery:

• On Saturday, a man was robbed at knifepoint by four men.

The victim was confronted by the group while walking along Voortrekker Road around 7.15pm.

He was robbed of his cellphone and cash.

Common robbery:

• Two women were attacked and robbed while travelling by taxi.

The pair boarded the white Toyota Quantum to Tsakane along Derby Avenue around 7.15pm, last night (Monday).

There were three men and two other women in the taxi.

As they travelled towards Springs, the victims were attacked by two of the men and the women.

They were searched and robbed of their belongings, including cellphones, a bank card, money and clothes.

The victims were forced out of the taxi in Dalview.

Burglary:

• Hosking Street, Brenthurst (business).

The break-in took place on Sunday.

Stolen: Cash and liquor.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A white Nissan NP200 bakkie was stolen from Devon Street in Dalview, yesterday.

Theft from a motor vehicle:

• On Saturday, a car battery was stolen from a vehicle parked at the corner of Cavendish Street and Victoria Avenue.
