Armed robbery:
• A shoot-out erupted in Vulcania yesterday (Monday) after a gunman opened fire on two guards returning from the bank.
The pair had cashed cheques at a bank in Mall@Carnival and returned to the company premises around 3pm.
A silver Mercedes-Benz pulled up and a man armed with a gun alighted the vehicle.
The guards took cover after the man started shooting at them, and they returned fire.
One of the guards was robbed of his firearm.
The police report does not indicate whether the money was stolen.
• Two women were attacked and robbed after boarding a white Toyota Quantum along Elsburg Road, near Carnival City.
The incident took place last night around 7.30pm.
There were three men in the taxi, including the driver.
As they drove off, the victims were attacked by two of the men and threatened with a knife and a gun.
The women were searched and robbed of their belongings, including cellphones, bank cards and cash.
The robbers demanded the pin numbers to the cards and withdrew money.
The victims were forced out of the taxi in Boksburg.
Business robbery:
• Cash, an airtime vending machine and other valuables were stolen during a robbery at a Leachville supermarket yesterday.
A man walked into the store just after 3pm and held the owner and a customer at gunpoint.
He was then joined by an unknown number of accomplices, who helped themselves to items in the store.

Burglary:
• Kitzinger Avenue.
The break-in took place on Sunday.
A motorbike parked in a locked garage was stolen.
• Greer Street, Maryvlei (business).
The burglary took place on Friday.
Stolen: Copper cables.
