Drone incubator programme empowers Ekurhuleni youth

Fourteen young people qualified for the next phase.

Fourteen Ekurhuleni youth are set to realise their dreams of becoming qualified drone pilots through the Drone Start-up Accelerator Programme that was launched on Friday.

The Drone Start-up Accelerator Programme is delivered in partnership with Ekurhuleni West College, Small Enterprise Development Agency, the National Youth Development Agency and the Royal HaskoningDHV engineering company.

Out of the 40 start-ups that participated in the initial phase of the programme, 14 successfully qualified for the next phase of 20-week incubation.

During the 20-week incubation, the start-ups will have to learn to serve the market and to develop solutions to the drone industry.
