Leachville resident hijacked in driveway

The driver of a white Ford Fiesta was robbed of his vehicle in the driveway of his Leachville home as he left for work on Friday morning.

After pulling out of the Satara Avenue property just before 06:00, the victim was closing the gate when he was confronted by a man armed with a gun.

The gunman instructed the victim to lie on the ground while an accomplice searched him.

He was robbed of his cellphone and wallet, which contained his ID book and bank cards.

Both men then climbed into the victim’s vehicle and drove off.

A case of hijacking is under investigation.
