Olsen wins big in Brakpan
The winners of each division then took each other on to decide the champion of champions.
Gerda Lottering beat Joseph Huyzers 5-3 in the seniors’ open final of the Eastern Gauteng Pool Association singles championships recently hosted by Brakpan Pool Club.
The tournament hosted players from Ekurhuleni, as they all cheered each other on in the different formats. The junior finals were won by Wendell Olsen, who beat Alrico Appolis.
Abie Visagie was too good in the master’s division, as he cruised to a 5-0 victory over Stoffel Kock. JP Viviers is the men’s champion, following a 5-2 win over Donovan Smit.

Lottering almost walked away with two singles titles but was beaten 5-4 by Jackie Els in the women’s final.
Lottering did, however, win a second title when she teamed up with Brendan Grobbelaar to pip Bobby and Delia Pringle for the mixed doubles trophy.
