Weekend crime round-up
An overview of crimes reported to Brakpan police from June 17 to 19.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
Friday – A garage at a residence in Trollip Street, Brenthurst, was broken into and TVs, electrical tools, a generator, a camping chair and a Suzuki motorcycle were stolen.
• The driver of a silver BMW was robbed by the occupants of a black Mercedes-Benz near Carnival City. The incident took place at around 24:00. The driver of the Mercedes flashed his car lights at the victim as they were driving along the R554.
The Mercedes then pulled up alongside the victim’s car and a man in the passenger seat of the Mercedes pointed a gun at the victim.
The victim sped off and lost control of the vehicle. He managed to come to a halt on the side of the road.
He got out of the vehicle and ran into the veld to hide.
A short while later he returned to his vehicle and found various items in the car, including a soccer kit and ball, had been stolen. The BMW’s number plate was also damaged.
Saturday – A white Volkswagen Fox was stolen from the corner of End Street and Muir Avenue.
• Cellphones, shoes, clothes and towels were stolen during a burglary at a home along Mans Street in Withok Estates.
• A car parked along Milner Avenue was stripped of its battery. Tools were also stolen from the vehicle’s boot.
• A Voortrekker Road shop was broken into. Entrance was gained through the roof of a store room. No further information was provided.
Sunday – At the time of publication, no incidents of theft, robbery, burglary, hijacking or any other serious crime had been reported.
