Facilities an issue for Spurs
The club has been unable to use the Brakpan Sports Grounds for training and matches.
Difficulties with using a stadium have seen Brakpan Spurs having to play all their matches away.
The club had previously used the Brakpan Sports Grounds but they have not been able to do so lately.
The facilities have been used for entertainment events recently.
“We haven’t had a place to train since last year,” said club manager Jabulani Munene.
This issue has meant that the club also does not get to train for matches.
“This weekend we are playing against Olympia and we can’t train for the match,” said Munene.
“It is supposed to be a home match for us but we have to play at their grounds.”
Spurs have lost two matches and one won and drawn the other so far this season.
This has left them at sixth on the Eastern Local Football Association log.
Munene believes that the club would do much better if they had a place where they could train.
“It is difficult to go into matches without training. We also have new players who need to get used to the team,” he said.

The manager says that he is not sure who to approach to resolve the issue.
“We have been told to talk to the Brakpan Sports Association (BSA) but they haven’t been able to help us,” he said.
“In the past, we would use our club’s account to book the training grounds from the municipality but now we have to go through BSA who have also struggled with finding facilities.”
BSA struggled to find facilities for a recent Easter holiday tournament as the municipality had double-booked the Brakpan Sports Grounds.
This has left the local clubs wondering where they can train and play matches.
