Buy a voucher for a homeless person

The shelter has vouchers available for the public to buy to gift to homeless people for a night’s stay.

Soul Outreach Community Upliftment is rolling out a project where the public can buy vouchers to gift homeless people a night at the shelter, a shower and a plate of food.

“We ask that the public rather buy a voucher from us to give to homeless people,” said Belinda Stickling, the project manager.

The shelter desperately needs more beds and asks the public to donate sturdy steel bunker beds, bedding and clothes.

“Winter is coming, and it is our busiest time,” Stickling explained.

Another project Soul did, the Bambino project, was previously done by Brakpan4Brakpan, Stickling’s former charity that has now merged with Soul.

This project aims to give new moms in need a jump start to parenthood by donating a nappy bag filled with basic necessities like bottles, clothes, nappies and a blanket.
