Main roads in town spruced up with fresh coat of paint

Residents are encouraged to report faded road markings and other service delivery issues.

The Brakpan Roads Department recently embarked on work to paint road markings, starting off with the main roads of the town.

“The general maintenance of our town’s roads remains questionable and, in some parts, are in a horrific state,” said Ward 97 Clr Brandon Pretorius.

“Although we have managed to apply pressure on the department to ensure work starts, the fight will continue to ensure it remains consistent.”

Pretorius told the Brakpan Herald he is pleased that residents’ efforts in reporting service delivery issues, such as faded or non-existent road markings, contributed largely to applying pressure on the department through the collection of reference numbers.

“As we continue our fight to ensure that the current administration fulfils its duties, I encourage residents to continue to report service delivery failures,” he added.
