The pair, who are known to the victim, approached him at around 19:00 and asked for R5. When he told them he doesn’t have any money to give them, one of them grabbed the victim from behind.

When the victim fought back, the other man stabbed him in the face with a knife. The duo then took the victim’s cellphone and R1 100 in cash. The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Sunday – Two security guards on duty at a business along Main Reef Road near Anzac were robbed and threatened at gunpoint by a gang of intruders.

The victims were sitting outside the guard room when they were confronted by six men at about 22:30. The men, each armed with a gun, pointed the weapons at the victims and threatened to shoot them if they didn’t cooperate.

The victims were forced to lie down and their hands were tied. The robbers searched them and took their cellphones.

They then left the victims and headed to the building on the premises. The guards later untied themselves and found that no company property had been stolen.
