High-speed offenders arrested on Denne Road

Two men were arrested by EMPD officers in Brakpan after being caught exceeding the 60km/h limit.

EMPD High Speed Unit officers recently arrested two men in Brakpan for exceeding the speed limit.

While performing law enforcement duties along Denne Road, officers set up high-speed monitoring equipment to check for compliance with the designated speed limit of 60km/h.

Officers stopped the drivers of a white Suzuki and a silver Honda, who failed to comply with the designated speed limit.

According to the EMPD, both were unable to give satisfactory reasons for being in contravention of the National Road Traffic Act 93/1996 and with video footage as evidence, they were immediately handcuffed and placed under arrest for exceeding the speed limit.

The pair, aged 40 and 50, were detained at the Brakpan Police Station and were expected to appear in the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court soon.
