Dalview petrol station staff threatened in armed robbery
Two robbers held staff at gunpoint, demanding airtime vouchers and cash before fleeing in a blue Hyundai i10.
Staff at a Dalview petrol station were forced to print airtime vouchers worth thousands during a robbery on the evening of October 7.
According to police information, a man entered the shop on the premises just after 21:30, approached a staff member at the counter and requested two R10 vouchers.
After the staff member processed the request, a second man entered the store to pay for the vouchers. This man then took out a gun from his waistband and demanded the staff member print three R5 000 vouchers.
When the third voucher failed to print, a R3 000 voucher was printed instead. The robbers then raided the till, taking R700 in cash.
They also took an undisclosed quantity of cigarettes, before fleeing the scene in a blue Hyundai i10 parked near the shop entrance. The vehicle had no registration plates.
The robbers threatened the staff member and his colleague, warning them not to move or they would be shot.
Brakpan SAPS are investigating a case of business robbery.
