Dalpark resident is player of the year

This shining U16 female rugby player from Dalpark continues to astonish.

Chemikè Visser, a Dalpark resident, was selected for SA Rugby’s U16 Elite Player Development (EDP) girls’ team, which participated in an intensive development camp in Paarl in October.

This is the first U16 EDP team for girls in South African history, bringing excitement to women’s rugby.

Chemikè, a loose forward for the Bulls and a learner at Hoërskool Waterkloof, was selected after a comprehensive scouting process during the FNB Grant Khomo and FNB Girls Week tournaments in Pretoria and Johannesburg.

On October 30, Chemikè was also named the TuksRugby Women’s Youth Player of the Year and the U16 Forward Player of the Year.

“Chemikè’s hard work and dedication paid off, as these two exceptional awards highlight her talent and perseverance.

“With her passion for the game and continued growth as a player, it’s clear that she is one of South Africa’s most promising young rugby talents,” said Nick Moeketsi, Chemikè’s TuksRugby coach.
