Top performing Brakpan SAPS members receive awards for dedication and professionalism

Local police members were celebrated for outstanding performance at the Ekurhuleni District Excellence Awards.

Brakpan SAPS members earned top honours at the Ekurhuleni District Excellence Awards, showcasing the station’s dedication to excellence across administration, investigations, and support services.

The members were recognised at the SAPS Ekurhuleni District Excellence Awards ceremony held at the Alberton Civic Centre on the evening of October 31.

The awards are aimed at encouraging and motivating members through recognition of outstanding performance.

The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Department of Community Safety MMC Sizakele Masuku, Community Safety’s director Mziwethu Xaba, CPF provincial secretary Pearl Manqele, EMPD deputy director Cebisile Ximba, and different stakeholders.

During the ceremony, SAPS members and stakeholders received trophies and certificates across various categories for exceptional performance in different components.

Brakpan SAPS members received awards in the following categories:
• Admin Employee of the Year (Level 1–4): Handyman David Mulaudzi
• Admin Employee of the Year (Level 8–12): Lieutenant Colonel Hilton Henstock
• FCS Investigator of the Year (Level 5–7): Sergeant Fikile Zitha (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit)
• Efficiency Index – Best Support of the Year: Brakpan SAPS

Brakpan SAPS station commander Brigadier Johanna Ngoma congratulated all members for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence in service.
