Players double over 2025 season for Anzac Dolphins
The soccer season is described by the chairperson of the Anzac Dolphins Academy as long and eventful.
Ntsimbi Phakathi, chairperson of Anzac Dolphins Academy, announced at the end of the 2025 soccer season that the team were crowned the 2025 BCLFA junior champions.
“Our last matches of the year on October 25 against Brakpan United saw us win U13 (4-0), U15 (5-0), and U17 (3-0) as our U11 team played to a draw of 0-0.
“It was an eventful 2025 soccer season. We started with less than 40 players, and at the end, we had 80 registered players ranging from six to 16 years,” said Ntsimbi.
“I thank the parents, especially those who always attended soccer matches to support the players. Parents should note that children play to their best of their abilities when they know their parents are watching.
“We also appreciate communication with parents, as the players behave well on and off the field of play. Players who have parental support tend to make it to higher levels.“
The club is also thankful for its sponsors, mainly Silinzo Trading, which donated two sets of soccer kits, and WC Metals, which donated money that was put towards acquiring soccer equipment.
“These are the kind of people who uplift the community and help us reach our objectives,“ said Ntsimbi.
The academy calls upon all players keen to join them, especially girls and women, as they currently only have two female players, Neo Mjoli and Minenhle Sibanyoni. They started with the academy from a young age, growing into outstanding players.
