Brakpan police highlight 24/7 services and public support systems

Constable Audrey Buthelezi highlights essential services and urges residents to work with police for a safer future.

“At the Brakpan Police Station, your safety is our priority.”

So says Constable Audrey Buthelezi, social crime prevention and communications officer at the local SAPS.

“Our dedicated police officers work tirelessly to protect and serve, ensuring a secure and peaceful environment for all residents,” she continued.

“Whether you need assistance, you want to report an incident, or simply seek guidance, our friendly team is here to assist.

“With our improved quick response and strong commitment to community engagements, we strive to build trust and create a safer tomorrow, together.”

Buthelezi outlined some of the services rendered at the Brakpan Police Station:

  • Community Service Centre (CSC), popularly known to the public as the “charge office”
Offers services 24/7, which means the CSC is open during the week, weekends, and holidays, day and night.

Emergency and non-emergency responses. Public safety and crime prevention through patrolling. The CSC offers victim support and referrals.

Documents certification, affidavits, accident reports, and case registrations. The charge office has an elderly friendly desk, which is always assigned a police member to promptly respond and assist senior citizens without them queuing for services.

There are two suggestion boxes in the CSC, where members of the public are encouraged to put their suggestions, rate the services rendered, appreciate, or condemn police members’ behaviour.

“Our friendly team in the CSC is always ready and happy to serve any member of the public,” said Buthelezi.

The CSC contact numbers are 011 7444 111 and 071 675 6955.

  • Second-hand goods office
This office is responsible for the registration and regulation of second-hand goods dealers and recyclers within the Brakpan area.

For more information on how to register as a second-hand goods dealer or recycler, or for assistance with compliance and enforcement, members of the public can visit office G03 at the Brakpan Police Station.

“All the services rendered at the police station can only be as strong as the trust, cooperation, and respect between the police and the community they serve,” said Buthelezi.

“The truth is that safety is not the responsibility of the police alone. It is a shared duty, and when community members and the police work together, they will not only create a safer environment but a stronger and more united community.”

She encouraged residents to support local police, to always report crime and suspicious activities, and to engage in community safety initiatives.
