Public meetings will be held to elaborate on the process.

The City of Ekurhuleni calls upon members of the community to participate in the process of drafting the new water service by-laws.

The Draft Water Services By-law intends to give effect to clause 11 Chapter 3 of the Water Services Act (Act 108 of 1997), which puts a duty to the city as a water service authority to progressively ensure efficient, affordable, economical and sustainable access to water services to all consumers and/or potential consumers in its area of jurisdiction.

Any person who desires to comment on the proposed City of Ekurhuleni Water Services By-laws Draft, may lodge such comments in writing by no later than March 31, electronically at Waterservicebylaw@ekurhuleni.gov.za

Comments can also be directed to the office of the Head of Department: Water and Sanitation, City of Ekurhuleni, 6th Floor Office Civic Centre, Boksburg, corner Trichardt and Market streets.

Alternatively, members of the public may go to their nearest customer care centre, where they will be assisted in submitting their comments.

Public meetings will be held to elaborate on the process. A meeting for Brakpan and Springs residents will be held on February 1 at Springs Main Hall.

The meeting will take place between 14:00 and 16:30.
