Tell us what’s on your mind

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus in South Africa, some people have started stockpiling groceries.

How do you feel about ‘panic buying’?

Nelly Mkhabela: This pandemic has us all affected. Once it is all over, we are going to be traumatised and we all need each other at this point. Think before you buy.
Glynis Glenister: I don’t know where people get the money to buy trolley-loads full of groceries. They overreact, the shops will be open to buy, it will be controlled.
Karen Aswat: No, I do not understand why people want to go and stock up for months, they put the economy and shop owners under unnecessary pressure and they do not think of their neighbours.
Vicky Sibiya: I do not know why people panic. I trust in the Lord to provide for us. I see no reason to rush to the shops and buy everything so the shelves are empty.
