Bakkie driver hijacked after minor collision
He was later forced into another vehicle at gunpoint.

The driver of a Toyota Hilux bakkie was hijacked on Wednesday after a minor collision with another vehicle.
While taking the slip road onto Heidelberg Road (R23) from Elsburg Road, a white Toyota Etios reversed into the driver’s bakkie.
The incident took place around noon.
According to information received from Brakpan police, the victim immediately climbed out of the bakkie to assess the damage.
He approached the Atios, which had four male occupants, and confronted the driver.
While talking to the driver, two passengers alighted the car and walked over to the bakkie.

One of the men moved to the driver’s side door and the other to the passenger side.
Wanting to get his cellphone from the bakkie, the victim followed them.
One of the men forced him into the bakkie and his face was covered with a hat.
They drove off and the victim was later forced into another vehicle at gunpoint.
He was driven around and then dropped off in a veld.
His hands and feet were tied and his face remained covered.
The hijackers assaulted him and told him not to get up from the ground.
He was rescued by a passer-by, who removed the bindings.
