Never a metro cop in sight

Henry Tiedemann writes: The EMPD are extremely efficient at trapping and arresting speeding motorists.

I travel the Heidelberg Road on a daily basis and note that it is commonplace for numerous motorists to ignore the stop streets, robots and solid lines on this road.

In addition, mainly taxis use the sand verge and turning lanes to cut in front of motorists waiting their turn at the robots and stop streets, but there is never a Metro Cop in sight to apprehend these violators. Why does the EMPD apply very selective monitoring of law breakers?

Is it just much easier to monitor speeding?

Regarding the condition of pavements, I have a neighbour next to my office premises who abandoned the building at a half-built stage, leaving rubble on the pavement which is now becoming a rubbish dump.

Several calls to the building department of the municipality have had no results to get the place cleaned up.

It is an eyesore and detrimental to my business.

Who in the municipality will actually address this problem?
