Gymnasts achieve in Geneva
Regional and South African Champions, Michelle Pieterse and Carla Britz, from Brakpan-based Masters Gymnastics Club, recently took part in an international competition in Geneva, Switzerland, where they achieved third place.

This tour was only one of the steps taken for the girls to get closer to their goal, which is competing in trials for the World Championships and World Age Group Competition.
“Michelle previously took part in the World Age Group Competition with other partners,” said head coach Dmitry Demianenko.
“She also had a podium finish at an international competition in Lithuania two years ago.
“I wish all of our gymnasts all the best and urge them to keep up the standard of results that have already been achieved.
“I wish to see more children in my gym, who will one day not only make their family and club proud, but also South Africa.”
Over the years Masters Gymnasts Club has produced acrobatic and trampoline gymnasts who are not only provincial and South African Champions, but also international competition medallists and finalists of the World Age Group Competition in acrobatic gymnastics.
“We are proud to say that we have knowledgeable world class coaches who are developing gymnasts into South African stars,” Demianenko added.
