An exhibition of women’s basketball in Ekurhuleni

The long weekend saw an exhibition of quality women’s basketball at the Brakpan Indoor Centre.

The Ekurhuleni Women’s Basketball Association (EBA) tournament was played from August 9 to 11 and it was befitting that the event got underway on Women’s Day.

A number of teams from around South Africa and neighbouring Southern African countries participated, and it was the University of Pretoria (Tukkies) women’s basketball team who came out top in the Seniors A group.

Raptors claimed first position in the Seniors B group, while Ekurhuleni Rubies were victorious in the u-18 category.

Zanele Ndaba, from Tukkies, was chosen as the most valuable player (MVP) among the senior players and Sive Somhlahlo was the MVP among the u-18s.
