United player making his name overseas

Brakpan-based United Cricket Club’s star 2014/2015 Eastern Premier League performer with the ball, Kevin Hinton, is settling in nicely as an overseas professional at his English club.

The tall, opening fast bowler, who is plying his trade with Ludlow Cricket Club, in the Shropshire County League Premier Division, has made an instant impact for his team.

In his first two matches in England the 20-year-old paceman, who topped the Easterns bowling rankings with 31 wickets at an average of 14.87, picked up four wickets on debut for the club and showed that he is no slouch with the willow either, scoring 67 runs to set up a season-opening win for Ludlow.

A week later and Hinton was in the thick of the action again, when he picked up a five-wicket haul (5/52 in 11 overs) in his second match.

He then struck an unbeaten 26 with the bat, to help Ludlow to make it two victories out of two.
