Dube is riding in style
The local club pro received a sponsorship of a Mercedes-Benz C180.
Kenneth Dube, golf director and club professional at Royal Oak Country Club, was recently named as the overall 2018 national Club Professional of the Year by his fellow golf professionals from the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) of South Africa.
As part of his prize, the local club pro received a sponsorship of a Mercedes-Benz C180 to drive around during his tenure as the top professional.
“To win this award is a huge achievement for me, the club and for Brakpan,” said Dube.
“I am proud to be at this club.
“People look at Brakpan as a bad area, but it is not.

“We are here and we are making it happen.
“We are flying the Brakpan flag high.
“If people want to learn to play golf, this is the place to do it.”
Dube hopes that his achievements can serve as an inspiration to junior golfers from all walks of life to reach for the stars.
With the festive season fast approaching, the local professional believes that the Royal Oak golf course is in immaculate condition.
“We will be opening the new, top quality green at Hole 15 soon.”
The green experienced a sinkhole collapse last year and Dube has been hard at work in getting it back into pristine shape.
