Bosman hosts international sevens teams
The winner of the 14-team competition will qualify for the 2020 Olympics.

With the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, less than nine months away, athletes around the world are hard at work trying to qualify for the showpiece.
African sevens rugby teams are no different.
Brakpan will be hosting 14 teams competing in the African Men’s Sevens tournament today (Friday) and tomorrow at Bosman Stadium.
The winner of the 14-team competition will qualify for the 2020 Olympics.
Kenya will go into the tournament as favourites as they qualified for the 2016 edition of the global showpiece in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Kenyans have also been a regular feature in the World Rugby Sevens Series among the top 15 teams in the world. The only other African team to play in the series as often as them is South Africa who will qualify for the Olympics automatically.

Kenya have also won the main cup before, at the 2016 Singapore leg.
The African Lions finished 11th at the last Olympics after winning one, against host Brazil, out of five games.
The other teams in the tournament are Zimbabwe, Uganda, Madagascar, Zambia, Tunisia, Senegal, Morocco, Namibia, Ghana, Botswana, Mauritius, Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria.
This is the second international rugby tournament the Bosman Stadium will be hosting this year.
The local venue played host to the Women’s World Cup qualifiers, which South Africa won, in August.
