Rugby team eager to get back on the field

Rugby is scheduled to start on April 14.

Although the coronavirus has put most sports on hold, Brakpan Rugby Club’s Women’s side coach Ben Kruger cannot stop thinking about the season.

The club’s women side had a great 2019 season with several of their players being selected for the Valke team and Brakpan winning the Zimbali Women’s Tournament.

Kruger wants his charges to keep going strong when the season eventually starts.

Brakpan’s players who are part of the Valke team are, from left: Anell Bothma, Zane Botha, Zancha Marcus, Talita Fasen and Zoe Botha. Absent: Candice Manville.

Rugby is scheduled to start on April 14.

The postponement of the season has meant that six players who are part of the Valke side could not play for their team this weekend.

When training restarts Brakpan’s Women Side will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6pm.

Those who are interested in joining are welcome.

For more information contact Kruger on 083 984 8884.
