Springs gets the upper hand on Brakpan
Thirteen tries were scored by Springs against one from Brakpan.
CCC Brakpan Rugby Club faced rivals Springs in the Valke Peregrine semi-finals on Saturday at Olympia Park in Springs.
Springs was again too strong for Brakpan and the tries rained down. The final score was 79-14 to Springs.
At halftime, Springs was already 31-6 ahead.
Thirteen tries were scored by Springs against one from Brakpan. Seven conversions were also successfully converted.
Brakpan scored two penalties, as well as a try and conversion.
In the lineouts, Springs got the upper hand early on and won six of Brakpan’s lineouts. Springs played to their strengths from early on and did what they do best by running their opponents off their feet with every opportunity that presented itself.
There were 20 scrums in the match and Brakpan fed the scrum 13 times. Twenty-one lineouts were formed in the match.
During the rucks and mauls, Springs got to show their strength and dominated them as well. During the U21 match between Brakpan and Springs, the local club showed their class and won 31-11.
Brakpan’s U21 team scored four tries, four conversions and a penalty to Springs’ try, conversion and penalty.
