International duo to perform at Emperors

Finally, a breath of fresh "entertainment" air will hit Gauteng when international '80’s duo, Air Supply, perform live at Emperors Palace, on April 25 and 26.

With over 100 million albums sold and eight Top 10 hits in the United States, the band has firmly positioned themselves as an all-time favourite over the years, with hits such as “Lost in Love”, “All Out of Love”, “The One That You Love”, “Sweet Dreams”, and “Making Love out Of Nothing At All”.

Fans will be able to reminisce and remember the good old days of leg warmers, big hair and shoulder-pads.

The two performers, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, met in 1975, the first day of rehearsals for “Jesus Christ Superstar”, in Australia.

The pair became instant friends due to their common love for The Beatles and, of course, singing.

After performances, the two would play at pizza parlours, coffee bars and night clubs, with just one guitar.

They quickly gained a reputation for great harmonies and original songs.

They made a demo and took it to every record company in Sydney.

A single was then made in one afternoon and thereafter it shot to number one on the national charts — Air Supply was born.
