Now the City is ready to deliver its budget to complement its promises and Finance MMC, Clr Moses Makwakwa, will deliver a multibillion 2014/15 budget today (Thursday).

The budget speech follows thorough consultative meetings with the communities of Ekurhuleni in which residents were given an opportunity to influence the budget allocations in terms of priorities important to them.

More importantly, the budget speech comes shortly after the general elections whose conclusion drew the spotlight to local authorities’ performance ahead of the local government elections in 2016.

In this regard, Ekurhuleni is set to deliver a people centered budget that will oil the city’s service delivery machinery, ensuring that all hands are on deck for heightened performance.

The event will take place at the Germiston Council Chamber at 9.30am.
