Brakpan SAPS management continues to encourage and recognise the commitment, dedication, and achievements of its members.

This was demonstrated during a recent management meeting where two detectives were commended for their participation in the 2026 Comrades Marathon while proudly representing the station.

Station commander Brigadier Johanna Ngoma steered the meeting in the boardroom.

Constable Audrey Buthelezi, Brakpan SAPS social crime prevention and communications officer, shared that these regular engagements are essential for aligning strategies, making decisions, and addressing challenges within the station, ultimately driving progress and productivity.

“Management meetings serve several critical functions within the SAPS, including strategic alignment, problem-solving, performance reviews, information sharing, and decision-making,” she said.

“The benefits of these meetings include enhanced communication, increased accountability, team cohesion, and a proactive management approach.”

During the meeting, detective sergeants Nape Motloung and Thabiso Marakalala were greatly appreciated for representing Brakpan SAPS at the 2026 Comrades Marathon.

The detectives, who have now returned to work after their recovery leave following the race, stated that the recognition from the management team is encouraging and gives them hope and eagerness to participate in future events while representing the SAPS.

“Employee recognition is the open acknowledgment and appreciation of a member’s value, dedication, and commitment,” said Buthelezi.

Both Comrades Marathon participants, in the absence of one, were appreciated, encouraged, and congratulated by the SAPS Brakpan management team.

Ngoma applauded the detectives and said that their victory is also the victory of Brakpan SAPS.
