Shimane Ramatshosa
Party: One Merafong Organisation (OMO)

Background:
Born and bred in Merafong, later became a student activist at NWU (Pukke) and now a qualified attorney and founder of Ramatshosa Attorneys.

He is also a pastor by calling with a background in youth and evangelical ministry, as well as a founding member of OMO who became actively involved in the Greater Fochville Water Crisis Forum. During his years of community building Shimane founded Hope Tshepo Themba and Hope Youth Group, two structures that helped organise Kokosi’s first-ever World AIDS Day event in 1998, where a person living with HIV publicly disclosed their status for the first time in Kokosi’s history.

His work also contributed to the establishment of Kokosi’s first community-owned bakery in 1999. His focus is on a stronger Merafong, built through accountable leadership, community participation, service and a shared commitment to solving problems.
