Man shot dead while driving his bakkie in Blyvoor

Residents went to check after they heard gunshots.

A driver (40) was shot dead this week in a notoriously dangerous part of Blyvooruitzicht.

The tragedy unfolded on a September evening at approximately 21:15 when the man was driving his white Toyota Hilux bakkie from Skoonplaas.

Residents in the area suddenly heard gunshots and rushed outside to investigate.

Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered that the driver had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and tragically died from his injuries.

Skoonplaas is widely known as a residential area heavily populated by illegal miners. Carletonville Police are investigating a murder case following the incident.
