House robbers strike in Khutsong Ext 5

The thugs fled with various valuables.

A woman (30) in Khutsong Ext 5 survived a terrifying house robbery in the early hours of September 1 after two armed men forced their way into her room at 02:20.

The resident was asleep in her backroom at a property in the 60s area of the informal settlement when the criminals broke through the back door and stormed inside.

Speaking isiXhosa and Sesotho, the thugs pointed firearms at her and demanded money and cellphones while searching through the room.

They eventually fled on foot with stolen clothes and a torch.

Carletonville Police are investigating the incident.

No arrests have been made.
