Carletonville police have opened a murder investigation following the suspicious death of a 32-year-old man in Welverdiend.

The victim was dropped off at his 13th Avenue residence by his stepmother on the morning of June 23, after visiting her at a different house in the same area.

Shortly after, the homeowner discovered him lying outside with critical head injuries.

An ambulance was called, and the man was transported to Carletonville Hospital, where he sadly died at 04:00 the next morning.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
