Masked thugs storm Welverdiend home in early-morning house robbery

Police are investigating a house robbery after a group of masked men forced their way into a home in Railway Street, Welverdiend, during the early hours of January 17, threatening a woman and her family at gunpoint before fleeing the scene.

A woman from Welverdiend had a harrowing experience when a group of masked thugs stormed her home over the past weekend.

This crime took place at about 01:15 on January 17.

The 32-year-old woman and her family were asleep in their home in Railway Street. They were suddenly woken up by someone kicking open her front door.

Six unknown masked men stormed into her room. They pointed firearms at the woman and demanded money.

The woman handed them her purse with the money inside, and they also took some of her children’s clothes.

The thugs then ran away.

Family members later told police that another four men were standing outside while their accomplices were busy inside the home.

Luckily, no one was injured.

The police are investigating a house robbery.
