Carletonville man kidnapped at gunpoint, assaulted after early morning home invasion

A 42-year-old Carletonville resident was kidnapped and assaulted after two armed men ambushed him outside his home in Extension 9. The suspects robbed the couple before driving the victim to East Driefontein, where they attempted to access his banking app and later left him घायल on the roadside.

A resident of Carletonville had a harrowing experience over the past weekend.
The man (42), a resident of De Villiers Street in Extension 9, was ready to go to work at approximately 05:45 on March 21.
He was about to get into his vehicle when two unknown men stormed up to him. They pointed firearms at him and forced him back to his house, where he had to open the door for them.
The thugs then took the man and his wife to their bedroom and demanded money. The couple gave them what they had, after which the thugs also grabbed some jewelry.
They then forced him into their vehicle and drove off with him.
The thugs then drove to near East Driefontein 7 Shaft and stopped. They instructed the resident to open his banking app, but luckily, he could not because the app was not responding.
The thugs assaulted him after they could not get it open and left him on the side of the road.
The resident was able to make his way back to Carletonville to report the crime to the police.
