Couple attacked with pepper spray during Fochville farm robbery

Couple awakened by intruders before thieves flee with electronics, cash and other valuables.

The police in Fochville are investigating a house robbery case after two robbers struck a farm just outside town this week.

The crime took place on July 18.

The victim (23) was sleeping with her boyfriend in their house on Portion 64 on the farm Kraalkop when she was woken up by a noise at about 05:10.

The woman opened her eyes and allegedly saw an unknown man standing next to their bed.

She screamed for her boyfriend to wake up.

However, before he could react, a second thug appeared in their room.

This man sprayed both with pepper spray before he and his accomplice grabbed an iPad, cellphone, laptop, Wi-fi router and money.

They then ran out of the house and escaped from the scene.

After the two criminals had left, the woman called for help and saw that the thugs had gained entry through their back door.

Luckily, no one was injured during the incident.
