Blybank man fatally stabbed while trying to pass fight near tavern

An innocent bystander was killed and a woman injured after a dispute between two men turned violent.

A man from Blybank lost his life in a senseless stabbing over the past weekend.

This crime took place on July 26.

A group of people was relaxing in Dove Street near White House Tavern at about 06:00. As far as could be determined, a fight broke out between two men over a woman.

The fighting had just stopped when another man walked by.

One of the fighting men stabbed this bystander with a knife in his neck.

A woman tried to stop the attack, but the man stabbed her in the back.

The man died at the scene while the woman was taken to hospital.

Carletonville detectives arrested the suspect on charges of murder and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm later that day.
