Unknown Society youth movement launches in Khutsong to support local talent

The newly launched Unknown Society movement in Khutsong aims to empower young people in music, performance and entrepreneurship, with its first Friday Sessions event drawing strong community support.

A new movement of young creative people kicked off on Friday, 27 February in Batswaneng Section, Ramofoko, in Khutsong.

The initiative was founded by Karabo Sello, a 24-year-old young man with a keen eye for talent in music, creativity, performance and entrepreneurship. His passion drove him to create a social space where young, gifted individuals from townships and under-resourced areas can be seen, developed and taken seriously.

He was motivated to start Unknown Society after seeing how much talent exists in his community, yet how little opportunity is available for it.

Sello said he is proud to declare the success of the movement’s first-ever Friday Sessions. What started as an idea to build something meaningful has already become an experience that left an unforgettable mark on everyone who attended.

“The level of energy, support and love from the community has far exceeded what we thought possible. Witnessing young minds step into the spotlight and freely express themselves reminded us of the purpose of creating Unknown Society, which is to give these talents a voice and a platform,” he said.

The Unknown Society team thanked supporters, artists and partners who attended and supported the event.

“Your presence has made this not just an event, but the beginning of something bigger. This is only the start, as we are determined to build even bigger experiences and create more opportunities for young talent in the community,” he concluded.
