Teenager shot after argument with friend in Carletonville

17-year-old wounded in Jade Street shooting, suspect flees as police investigate attempted murder case

A teenager was shot after an argument with a friend in Carletonville earlier this year.

The 17-year-old boy was relaxing with friends in the park in Jade Street at about 17:30 on February 13. An argument erupted between the teenager and one of his friends.

The teenager started to walk away while his friend got into a white VW Polo.

The friend pulled up next to the teenager as he was walking in the street. He pulled out a firearm and shot the teenager in the chest.

The victim was rushed to Carletonville Hospital and was treated for more than a month.

He only reported the incident to the police this week after his mother arrived from the Eastern Cape.

The police are investigating an attempted murder case.
