The police in Carletonville are investigating cases of attempted murder as well as an inquest following a violent incident on Garnet Street in Carletonville this week.

This crime took place on September 19.

A group of friends drove into the parking area at the back of the Zambesi Court Flats to drop off some friends at about 21:20.

One of the friends, a 41-year-old woman, suddenly wanted to get out of the car because she was feeling ill.

Suddenly, the woman’s ex-boyfriend (44), against whom she has a restraining order, appeared behind her. The man had walked into the parking lot behind them as they had opened the electric gate.

The ex-boyfriend pulled out a firearm.

“You do not want to come with me,” he said.

He then shot his ex-girlfriend in the right arm and lower body. He then proceeded to shoot her female friend (46) standing next to her in the stomach. A bullet also grazed her face.

The man then shot himself and died at the scene.
