Guilty verdict in Fochville pub murder case

Rudolph "Ruhan" Pretorius has been found guilty of the murder of Natasha Wheeler Barnard, who died after a brutal assault at a Fochville pub in March 2022.

Rudolph ‘Ruhan’ Pretorius was found guilty of the murder of Natasha Wheeler Barnard this week.

Pretorius, who is now in his mid-20s, appeared in the Fochville Regional Court before Magistrate Fatima Khan on July 21.

He was found guilty of murder and will be sentenced in the same court on August 21.

The case stems from an incident at The Boulevard pub in Fochville in March 2022.

During the shocking incident, Barnard (33) was severely assaulted and later died from her head injuries.

The pub has since closed its doors.

Pretorius was the only remaining accused in the case after the charges against the other original suspects were withdrawn.
